First of all, Hi Slackiller, remember me from Gangwars? You helped me out when I first started mapping and got me into it. Thanks for that. It's ok if you don't remember, it was a long time ago.

I hear about people using hint brush to like...lower the amount of something? Something "speeds". How can I use this?

Also, there is a texture that turns the thing that I put it on invisible, what is this texture and I heard it helped do something. What is it?

Thank You.

Hi, I remember you. Smile

they try to lower r_speeds.

hint brushes can help some or hurt alot if used wrong.

there are other ways of reducing r_speeds that should be tried first.

making sure brush shattering is minimized is the best way to control r_speeds. then texture stretching is the next best way to reduce them.

Inever really had to use hint brushes on my maps, so I never got into using them. I know hint texture goes on 1 side of the brush and skip texture on the other 5 sides. also zoner's compile tools are needed to compile. they can be confusing .... the tutorials.
