I'm glad your site/forums are back up.

I read in a tutorial about not using textures that are too big

So I've been using brushes/textures no bigger than 256x256

If I want to make a floor that is 1024x512, I've been using 8- 256x256 brushes to piece it together. Is that how I should continue,or am I misunderstanding something?

once I get all the brush and texture work done, and I move on to other aspects of mapping.I'm sure my stupid questions will stack up fairly quickly icon_help

Oh I sent you an e-mail too... icon_flamed hehe <<those 2 are my favorite

when texturing you don't have to build the brush to the texture size.
Build the brush the size you want it,then texture it. the texture will cover the whole brush. And the texture will repeat it self depending on how you apply it. you can let it tile naturally and adjust it to fit edges or you can hit the fit button. see link below.

check out the tutorial I made
