We can make HL map by VHE or Radient. I saw some website that they always say Radient is the best solution for Half-Life editing, with only small bugs and Worldcraft have more bugs but also user friendlier.

I tried to use Radient before. Within three days i abandonit. Because it's too hard to be controlled.

i really wanna know that what advantage and disadvantage betweem both of them??? And what the familiar bugs do worldraft have???

Please, help me please

can you answer me??

well I seen some radiant editors for other games like (rtcw, soldier of fortune) some others too. I never tried the one for HL. I already knew the worldcraft editor so I stuck with that. some people also use quark too.
valve hammer editor(worldcraft) and quark are the 2 most popular editors for HL(CS).

VHE is the most used and most freindliest.
I would go Here and get the valve hammer editor(formerly known as worldcraft)
hammer is just worldcraft updated. You can even try the beta 3.5 version which I do not have any troubles with.
most of the bugs have been worked out.

also look http://www.slackiller.com/hlprograms.htm for other popular programs for mapping related stuff.

update your video card drivers.

Thanks for Slackiller very much. Actually, I have downloaded the beta 3,5 last mouth. There are some little change. but i still want to know that what familiar bugs 3.4 have. May you tell me more about it??

Also I have some good idea. it is that i want to make some model in 3DMAX and put them to my map. I had found a article that is teaching how to convert from 3DMAX to .mdl. I haven't seen the article yet and it's look difficult. But i would try my best to finish it. Also beta3.5 have a new function that we can make the model be viewable in 3D view. It's great. Before we use this function, we have to do three things. If not, it won't be available. I have seen the guide which is in VECR teach us how to do the three things. Honestly, i am a stupid boy i don't understand what the article guide me about. So i post a question about the three things in counter-map. May anyone help me and solve my problem??

to convert models from 3dsmax you need a converter.
Or use milkshape 3d.
http://www.milkshape3d.com/

tommy14 is one of the most knowledgable persons on mapping help.
so read his answers carefully.
to make model viewing in hammer 3.5 work, you'll need the correct fgd with the lines tommy14 showed you.
or check johnny ryall version and compare it to yours.
