Greetings:

I am in need of much help here.
I am not very good with map textures, and as you can see, I am having some trouble. I was trying to get the background of the following picture to be transparent so I could use it as a texture.

If possible, can you make the background transparent and convert it into a .WAD texture format? The background is that odd shade of orange. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Slackiller, thanks for the tutorials, but I tried it and everything else a hundred times and ended up without success. Would you please do this for me? I tried everything and the transparency won't work at all. Could you make it transparent and then turn it into a .WAD file for me? I am desperate right now and would appreciate your help very much.

that tutorial explains it pretty good, so try it a few times then tell me what part doesn't work.

what entity are you using it on ingame?
what settings?
what looks wrong with it ingame?
is it still blue ingame or does it turn black(the invisible parts)?

I did everything exactly said in the tutorial.

The entity:
func_wall
render mode: solid - no light
fx amount (1 - 255): 255

That's basically it, and in the game the texture background is still blue.

ok the still blue is the clue... the texture (the true blue part is wrong).

there has to be only one true blue slot and preferred in the last slot.

the color has to be 0,0,255 only once in the texture, check the other slots in the pallette and switch them

ok in the pallette in Wally

the last square is the only one that can have the 0,0,255 color.

so check all the other squares and make sure none are blue
