you could decompile the map and see.
whats the name of map?
in cs1.6 it would be done with the fade texture on a func_illusionary
ic source I think there are effects textures used on func_illusionary |

iv used anamated textures b4 u just have to make the wads with names that make the fraim and that its anamated
if i rember correctly its like

make a brush in the shape of the light beam, apply yellow/black fade texture on the 4 outer sides of brush. Highlight the brush and hit the To Entity button and make it a func_illusionary. set render mode to additive and fx amount to something like 70-80
Look at the countermap tutorial on it for the halflife 1 engine.
